Volleyball loses in GLVC, reaches NCAA

The Northern Kentucky University volleyball team competed in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament on Oct. 11 and 12 in Indianapolis. After ending a five-year streak of first-round losses by defeating Southern Indiana in straight sets on Oct. 11, the Norse were defeated in the semifinals by Indianapolis the next day.

Collision calls for heightened awareness

The accident that injured two pedestrians last month is helping bring awareness to Northern Kentucky University about traffic and pedestrian safety. Foggy car windows were to blame for the collision that occurred on Kenton Drive Oct. 19 when Candice McLaurine’s car collided with Louis Oder and Ashley Katt, according to the police report.

Women advance in NCAA Tournament, men eliminated

The women’s soccer team advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament by defeating Bellarmine on Oct. 13. The Norse won the game, 1-0, on sophomore Megan Frye’s golden goal in the 108th minute. The Norse advance to play Grand Valley State for the Midwest Region Championship.
